Why I’m Giving Away Thousands of Dollars To A Nonprofit

I like nonprofits… that’s no secret. I’ve worked for two and volunteered for many. Everyone likes nonprofits; you’re soulless if you didn’t. So it might be fairly obvious to all why I’m giving away thousands of dollars worth of web services to one random nonprofit organization. I started this web and solutions marketing company called Denvelopers as a way to pursue my interests of helping out nonprofits. Too often I hear horror stories of a web company “doing a favor” for a nonprofit by reducing the price, etc. but they are left with something they can’t change or manage at all. This leaves the nonprofit virtually helpless as the majority are cash-strapped and can’t pay for updates and changes.

I resolve to not be that web company. I build on open source and relinquish as much if not all of the control back to the nonprofit organization’s leadership. I try to involve a lot of people in the project – I think a community involved is much better than a select few. That’s why I need your help in spreading the word:
