Twitter never ceases to amaze me and February 22nd was no exception. When I’m working I like to turn on a film to watch with a split screen. I chose to watch Food, Inc, many people had told me about the film and I was excited to watch so I posted on Twitter “Watching Food, Inc. while working… I’m prepared to be rocked!”.
Moments after posting that message, Rocky Mountain Organic Meats, or @grassfedorganic, sent this message back to me “@markwmann After watching order organic grassfed beef from www.rockymtncuts.com”.
I was impressed by their quickness and focus on maintaining a conversation about their product so I sent out a tweet to highlight their expertise “Need organic grassfed beef? Follow @grassfedorganic, a company that has it together environmentally and on SM”.
That message was quickly followed up by @rackhousepub owner, Chris @cerippe. He sent a message to @grassfedorganic saying “@grassfedorganic I’d like some samples and pricing for my pub. Thank @markwmann for the potential business”.
Finally, today I received a message from @grassfedorganic letting me know “@markwmann Thanks for connections to the Rackhouse, they got samples yesterday! Thanks again!”.
It’s been fun to see the connections made through Twitter over the last couple years and I hope the next time I go into the Rackhouse I get to enjoy some Rocky Mountain Organic Meats.

That’s great. I was hoping the story would end with you getting some free organic meat!
Food Inc was pretty serious eh? Mostly stuff we already know about how screwed up our food system is, but when you put it all together like that… yikes! Come spring be sure to visit Le Chateau de Sauvé for some fresh organic veggies.
Sounds great! What do you plan to grow?
Since it’s our first growing season we’ll probably experiment with all types of stuff. For sure the things we eat most – tomatoes, potatoes, onions, sukuma wiki, carrots, lettuce, cabbage, cilantro, basil…. and we will see what else strikes our fancy.
